| Named after an enlightened woman character in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad Gargi College is a women's only college located in South Delhi. The college offers education in four streams- science, commerce, arts and teacher training and is the only women's college in the South Campus to do so. Gargi College was awarded the prestigious "College with a Potential for Excellence" grant by the University Grants Commission in 2004- 2005. |

| Size, Infrastructure, Facilities |
| Gargi College has well equipped classrooms and labs. The entire college campus is WiFi enabled and all students can use this facility. Other infrastructure includes state of the art auditoriums and seminar halls and large sports fields. The library is fully computerized and houses over 60000 titles. The college has a strength of about 3500 students. There are approximately 180 faculty members on the rolls. |
